Each Thursday, Mrs. Swintak comes in our classroom to work on "growth mindset." See the flyer below to refresh your memory. It's basically changing your attitude about learning and not being afraid to make mistakes. It's going VERY well. This week we brainstormed phrases that we could use to encourage our growth mindset. See the pictures of our work.

As part of our unit on Rube Goldberg and STEM standards, we completed an engineering challenge. Students used materials provided to knock a toy figure onto a target on the ground. They had to go back and resign when their original plan didn't work. It was so exciting when they perfected their designs!! 😊 Students used pattern blocks to make a picture. They then used the guide that told them how much each pattern block is worth. Using multiplication, students determined the total value of each pattern block. These came out great! Today we used the Chromebooks to look at an interactive map of Boston now compared to Colonial times. It was VERY interesting! Book orders are due Friday. You can send it in or order online. 👍🏻 |
